I created this poster to celebrate the Shooting Gallery’s ninth anniversary. This gallery, located in the lovely Tenderloin, was one of the first major galleries in San Francisco to show street/graffiti artists’ work. It is now globally known for supporting all forms of lowbrow art and its owner, Justin Giarla, has curated shows around the world. He has also opened a few new galleries in San Francisco. The poster’s copy simply reads, “Curating the streets for nine years strong.” Knowing the poster was going to be plastered on street poles and boarded up buildings throughout the city, I had it printed on Agfa’s Synaps paper so it could easily survive the elements (like a drunken pimp trying to rip it down). The poster may soon be available for purchase through the gallery.
